Terms of Service

1. Service Overview

roommes is a C2C roommate-matching platform connecting foreigners and Koreans seeking shared housing in South Korea. Our service helps users discover compatible roommates, communicate, and form housing groups. We do not act as a real-estate agent, landlord, or guarantor for any housing arrangement.

2. User Obligations

By using roommes you agree to:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Provide accurate, truthful information in your profile and all communications
• Not impersonate any other person or misrepresent your identity
• Keep your login credentials confidential and notify us immediately of any unauthorised use
• Comply with all applicable Korean laws and regulations

3. Service Provider's Obligations

roommes commits to:

• Protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable law
• Making reasonable efforts to maintain stable and secure service operation
• Notifying users of significant changes to the service or these Terms in advance
• Handling user complaints and disputes in good faith

4. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

• Posting false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Impersonating another person or organisation
• Sending unsolicited commercial messages (spam) or advertising to other users
• Harassing, threatening, or discriminating against other users
• Engaging in real-estate fraud, rental scams, or any deceptive housing scheme
• Scraping, crawling, or bulk-downloading platform data without written permission
• Attempting to access accounts, systems, or data that do not belong to you
• Any activity that violates Korean law or infringes upon the rights of others

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination without prior notice.

5. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

roommes is a technology platform that facilitates introductions between users. We do not verify the identity, background, or intentions of any user, and we are not party to any housing agreement formed between users. Accordingly:

• roommes makes no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any user profile or listing.
• roommes is not responsible for the outcome of any roommate arrangement, housing agreement, or dispute between users.
• roommes is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the service.

We strongly recommend meeting potential roommates in person in a public place before entering any housing agreement, and conducting independent due diligence on any rental property.

6. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Republic of Korea.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide at least 7 days' notice of material changes via email or a prominent in-service notice. Your continued use of roommes after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
